Na segunda-feira, 29 de fevereiro, o Escritório Municipal da Epagri de BARRA VELHA estará comemorando os 60 anos da extensão rural e pesqueira e 40 anos da pesquisa agropecuária em Santa Catarina. No dia 29 de fevereiro de 1956 foi instalado no Estado o primeiro Escritório Técnico Agrícola (ETA) e a data tornou-se um marco para o início das atividades de extensão rural e pesqueira no território catarinense.

O evento acontece às 15h30min, no Auditório da Câmara de Vereadores de Barra Velha.  Na ocasião será servido um café/lanche, que vai reunir autoridades locais, representantes de entidades agrícolas,  representantes da pesca artesanal, funcionários e ex-funcionários da Epagri. O evento contará com depoimentos que resgatam a história local da extensão rural e apresentação de um vídeo, produzido pela TV da Epagri, que faz um relato histórico da atividade no Estado.

A Epagri conta atualmente com 639 extensionistas rurais e sociais. Além destes, boa parte dos 1654 funcionários da Empresa também contribuem para a atividade, exercendo funções administrativas ou operacionais. A Empresa é uma referência nacional e até internacional em extensão e pesquisa rural.

Extensão é uma metodologia, uma estratégia de ação, entendida como ensino ou educação informal. Na Epagri esse conceito evoluiu nos últimos 60 anos, passando do simples repasse de informações técnicas, para uma troca de conhecimentos entre o extensionista, o pesquisador e o agricultor, pescador, indígena ou quilombola, levando sempre em consideração os saberes tradicionais dos povos.

O trabalho de extensão da Epagri é desenvolvido com base no tripé economia, ambiente e sociedade. A Empresa presta mais de 350 mil assistências anuais. Em seus 60 anos de história a extensão desenvolveu para o Estado diversas tecnologias sociais de baixo custo que hoje são sucesso, como a proteção de fonte modelo caxambu, o carneiro hidráulico, sistemas de tratamento de esgoto doméstico, entre outros.

Historicamente, a extensão da Epagri colaborou não só para o desenvolvimento econômico, mas também social Santa Catarina. Essa atividade foi a grande responsável por levar qualidade de vida para os camponeses catarinenses. Prova disso é que os profissionais da extensão da Epagri foram os primeiros a aplicar a vacina contra a poliomielite para as crianças do meio rural, já que naquela época a estrutura de saúde ainda era precária no interior do país.

Epagri celebrates on Monday

60 years of Rural Extension and Fisheries and 40 years of Agricultural Research

On Monday, February 29th, the Municipal Office of the OLD BAR Epagri will be celebrating 60 years of rural and fisheries extension to 40 years of agricultural research in Santa Catarina. On February 29, 1956 has been installed in the first State Office Agricultural Technical (ETA) and the date has become a landmark for the beginning of the rural and fisheries extension activities in the state of Santa Catarina.

The event takes place at 15:30 in the Auditorium of the Old Bar City Council. On the occasion will be served coffee / snack, which will bring together local authorities, representatives of agricultural organizations, representatives of artisanal fisheries, employees and former employees of Epagri. The event will feature testimonials to rescue the local history of the extension and presentation of a video, produced by TV Epagri, which is a historical account of activity in the state.

The Epagri currently has 639 rural and social extension. In addition, much of the 1654 Company employees also contribute to the activity, exercising administrative or operational functions. The Company is a national and even international reference in rural extension and research.

Extension is a methodology, an action strategy, understood as education or informal education. In Epagri this concept has evolved in the last 60 years, from the simple transfer of technical information for an exchange of knowledge between the extension, researcher and farmer, fisherman, indigenous or maroon, always taking into account traditional knowledge of the people.

The Epagri the extension work is developed based on the tripod economy, environment and society. The Company provides more than 350,000 annual assists. In its 60 year history the extension developed for the state various social technologies of low cost that are now successful, as the source protection model caxambu, the hydraulic ram, domestic sewage treatment systems, among others.

Historically, the extent of Epagri collaborated not only for economic development but also social Santa Catarina. This activity was largely responsible for bringing quality of life for farmers in Santa Catarina. Proof of this is that the professionals of the extent of Epagri were the first to apply the polio vaccine to children in rural areas, since at that time the health infrastructure was still poor in the countryside.
